February 9th - February 13th, 2020

"Working hard is important, but there is something that matters even more: BELIEVING IN YOURSELF" - Harry Potter

Writing
In Writing Workshop, our writers choose topics that they feel strongly about, making cases by supporting their opinion with reasons and details.

Reading
In Reading Workshop, the coming two weeks are dedicated to guided reading sessions for our unit Bigger Books Mean Amping Up Reading. Our readers will practice the various strategies learned to become fluent readers.

Math
In Math, students will start Unit 7 of math and practice pattern in counting, doubles and halves.

STEM
In STEM, our current unit is “Pebbles, Sand and Silt”, we will do activities about the story of sand.

Social Studies
In Social Studies, Grade 2 is learning about the expectations of how to act in one’s own culture and compare this with behavioral expectations of other cultures. This week, Grade 2B will interview Ms. Kelly, our assistant principal, and they will get to learn about her country ‘United States of America’. Next week the students will prepare a presentation on their acquired knowledge of the USA and present to Grade 2A.

Happy learning!
